"I lived in St. Thomas for several years and was captivated by the Children's Carnival. It's hard on the children walking several miles in the hot sun but with ice cream, water, juice and soda available on demand, they managed. You can see in my paintings that they take Carnival very seriously - it is, after all, a competition."~Cynthia
